Q4 Learning Options for K-8 Families
Tullahoma City Schools will begin the fourth quarter when students return from spring break on Monday, March 22. K-8th grades will have the same two learning options for students as they have had each quarter: traditional and virtual. Traditional learners report to school each day, and virtual learners do not report to school; instead, they access instruction digitally or through paper packets. Healthy practices for health and safety will continue to be implemented at school. These practices include the following:
-
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects throughout the day
-
Review and reinforce handwashing and hygiene practices
-
Take temperature checks daily upon arrival
-
Encourage social distancing practices when feasible
-
Move students strategically
-
Recommend all faculty, staff, and students wear masks
We will continue to stay abreast of current COVID-19 guidance and recommendations from the Tennessee State Department of Health and communicate them appropriately. As we prepare for the upcoming fourth quarter, we need to know whether your student will be a traditional or virtual learner by Friday, March 5. It is important that parents select one option (traditional or virtual) for their student(s) and remain in that learning option for the entire quarter, which ends on Friday, May 21. If you are pleased with the current learning option (traditional or virtual) for your student, then no further action is required as your student will continue in their current placement during the fourth quarter. If you desire a change in placement, please follow the process outline below:
-
Email distancelearninghelp@tcsedu.net for the required form to request a change in placement.
-
Once submitted, you will receive notification in a timely manner from a building representative where your student is currently enrolled about the approval status of your request.
-
The approved placement will begin on March 22, 2021, and continue throughout the fourth quarter, ending on May 21, 2021.
